LabVantage Medical Suite is available for veterinary applications. It integrates all medical laboratory disciplines within a single platform, enabling veterinarians and vet techs to meet their distinct needs and workflows.
Patient/Animal and User Centric
Functionalities are organized in work-centric tram stops with user/role-specific work lists and patient/animal-centered views. Tram stops are grouped in a tram line that displays the actual workflow within the laboratory. This approach is insightful and provides quick access to all the LIS functionality making it easy to use and learn.
Statistics and Economy
LabVantage Medical Suite has a built-in tool for statistics that can run reports and email the results in the background. It can also handle invoicing and accounting information, including sending it to an external financial management system if required.
Veterinary Workflow
The Veterinary lab tramline within LabVantage Medical Suite covers an end to end workflow, starting with the veterinary client order (Request Order) via the web portal and ending with receiving the report (My Orders) via the web portal. Sample requests can be made manually, through the web portal, electronically via external systems or request form scanner software. Requests can cover one discipline such as Chemistry or multiple disciplines like Microbiology and Pathology Requests. In the Veterinary Tramline samples such as Biochemistry, Hormones, Hematology, and Cytology can also be handled. Separate tramlines have been created for Bacteriology, Histology and Carcases samples.
Once received in the laboratory, the system will guide the user in sample distribution. LabVantage Medical Suite integrates with > 700 commonly used clinical instruments using pre-existing drivers, eliminating the need for manual data entry and allowing for fully integrated technical validation. The system allows for management by exception, meaning only certain specified samples need to be reviewed in medical validation – where the veterinarian can write the diagnosis or order additional tests. At any stage in the workflow, the user can access a full multidiscipline history of the patient, allowing him/her to make informed decisions. Reporting can be done on paper, by automated e-mail or through integration in various formats (XML, ASTM, HL7) to external systems.
